This "FACULTY REFERRAL" Application is ONLY to be used for individuals who have been SPECIFICALLY referred to apply for the Academic Coaching position with a specified university and the specific faculty member referring the candidate.

If you were NOT referred by a specific FACULTY member at one of our partner universities and for an upcoming course, please do not complete this application.  Please complete our standard application: https://form.jotform.com/ICForms/AcademicCoachApplication2023  

If you were referred by an employee of Instructional Connections or by a friend, please do NOT complete this "Faculty Referral" application.  You must apply as a general applicant and will only be considered by completing the standard application:  https://form.jotform.com/ICForms/AcademicCoachApplication2023 

All faculty-referred applicants WILL be verified and confirmed with the listed faculty member or university referring each candidate prior to being reviewed and/or moving forward.  If unable to verify/confirm the "Faculty Referral", any application submissions received through this "Faculty Referral Application" will be voided and not reviewed/considered.

A minimum of a conferred Master's Degree is REQUIRED with a minimum of 18 or more completed graduate-level course credit hours in the subject area. Please refer to the detailed job posting for the detailed requirements by program area. OFFICIAL Transcripts for all degrees (undergraduate and graduate) earned will be required to be contracted as an Academic Coach.

All Faculty-Referred Academic Coach applicants must complete and pass all the pre-employment screening activities and background checks to be advanced and contracted as an Academic Coach with Instructional Connections; there are zero exceptions. Completing this process can take up to 3-4 weeks from the date of submitting this application.

If you are already a contracted and active Academic Coach with Instructional Connection, do NOT complete this application.

Instructional Connections is an exclusively US-based company with all services provided within the borders of the US. Thus, we cannot consider or hire applicants who are not US Citizens or do not hold a valid US work authorization. All applicants for employment must have a valid, current US work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Instructional Connections (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa, or any other non-immigrant status).

Here are a few tips for completing this application:

• It is best to complete this online application on a computer (laptop/PC), not a mobile device or tablet.
• Please be sure to complete all fields marked with a red asterisk (*), as they are required fields. This includes selecting a "Prefix" from the dropdown menu in the Full Name field. If you do not complete a required field, you cannot proceed to the next page.
• If a field does not apply to you, please enter 'N/A', as the system will not allow you to continue with any missing required information.
• Pay attention to the requested formatting when completing any of the "Date" fields. For example, some fields may request only Month (MM) and Year (YY or YYYY).

For Other: Professional Engineer, NSPE. Licensed Social Worker, Kansas. Licensed Clinical Counselor, Georgia. Online Teaching Certificate, OLC.

IF SELECTED TO ADVANCE AS A POTENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR THE ACADEMIC COACH POSITION:

• I attest that I have a valid and current U.S. work authorization, and do not now or in the future require any documentation and/or sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Instructional Connections (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa, or any other non-immigrant status).
• I will be required to complete Pre-Employment Screening (Virtual Interview).
• I can expect to commit 4 to 6 hours to the self-paced and including 12 assessments that are graded; with a required overall minimum passing score of 85% or higher, accomplished over one week.
• The virtual interview session is only offered twice per month and always starts on a Monday.
• I will be required to submit a Criminal Background Release document to allow for a background check to be performed.
• Upon successful competition of the screening (active participation, working through all modules completing all assignments/quizzes, and earning a passing score), you are advanced to the contracting phase. The contract is dependent on the success of the background check and screening.
• I understand that the compensation services as an Academic Coach is based on a "Per-Student-Per-Course" formula, with only one payment being made per course after the course ends. The Academic Coach will be paid at the minimum base rate of $18.00 per student per course. Additional per-student stipends may apply to specific courses and/or programs. Since IC supports all disciplines and levels of courses, specific "per-student-per-course" rates are not disclosed until a contracted Academic Coach is approved and offered a specific course assignment.
• Once your contractor package is complete (all OFFICIAL transcripts for ALL degrees earned and new hire documentation have been received), your name will be added to our pool of screened and qualified Academic Coaches ready for an assignment.
• Only fully vetted and contracted Academic Coaches will be presented to our partners for approval of an assignment.
• The effective date on the contract is not a start date for assignment or a guarantee of a coaching assignment.
• Actual course assignments are made near the course start date and are dependent on many factors including area and level of graduate study, university approval, and student enrollment.
• Assignments are based on student enrollments and if the enrollments are not high enough to warrant a new coach an assignment may not be immediately available.

I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT THE STATUS OF THIS ACADEMIC COACH POSITION IS THAT OF AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR AND AS SUCH, I agree that I:

• am not guaranteed a course assignment as an Academic Coach based on my contract effective date.
• am responsible for paying all federal, state, and local taxes (1099-MISC).
• am not entitled to a pension, retirement, health, or other benefits from Instructional Connections, LLC
• will keep all information, communication, and materials relating to my work with Instructional Connections, LLC confidential.
• will not be eligible to receive worker's compensation insurance from Instructional Connections, LLC
• may accept or decline any course assignment that is offered based on my schedule and availability prior to the course going live with students.
• am responsible for all other expenses that may be incurred in the performance of services.

IF I AM CONTRACTED BY INSTRUCTIONAL CONNECTIONS AND ACCEPT AN ASSIGNMENT, I agree to the following:

• Provide the academic coaching services for the course accepted and assigned during the entire term of the course,
• Consistently respond to student and faculty emails within 24 hours throughout the duration of the course (including weekends & holidays),
• Grade the assigned assignments within 72 hours of the due date per the rubrics provided (as directed by the faculty of record),
• Participate in weekly check-in sessions with Faculty of Record and other Academic Coaches, as specified by the Faculty, Lead and/or Coordinating Coach for the course,
• Complete all requirements, tasks, and timelines expected for the course term in a timely and efficient manner.
