Audition Fee $40.00. Reduced audition fee $20.00 if your band director, school or private teacher is a CBA or CMEA member. Fees may be paid online or by cheque.

NYB Applicants must be between 16 and 22 years of age as at May 1, 2015

Auditions must be received by November 27, 2014
Audition Requirements

Brass/Woodwinds/Double Bass

Scales: Full Chromatic on instrument

Concert F and Ab Major Two octaves with arpeggios

Solos: Two contrasting solos or etudes

Percussion

Scales: Full Chromatic on mallets

Concert F and Ab. Major Two octaves with arpeggios

Solos: One solo or etude performed on Tympani, Mallets & Snare Drum

Audition Music

All music must be scanned and included with your audition. Please upload files in pdf or jpeg format. Be sure to indicate clearly what passages were performed.

Recording your audition

Make your recording the highest quality possible. Only mp3, wma, mpg, m4a, and avi files are accepted.

Auditions are judged anonymously. Do not digitally alter or splice a recording during a scale, arpeggio, solo or etude.
