Obtains imaging authorizations for patients and manages the clinic schedule. This position is merged with medical records and also encompasses those duties
Medical Records Clerk: Creates new medical records and retrieves existing medical records by gathering appropriate record folders and contents; maintains updated files; assists in completing disability forms; answers all queries by searching and retrieving files. This position is merged with clinical assistant and also encompasses those duties.
Billing: Billing utilizes ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT codes to bill for services provided by the surgeons. Corrects and submits claims to insurance companies and is involved in payment posting. Learns billing practices of specialists (such as credentialing, insurance verification, data entry, etc.) Interacts and communicates with patients regarding account balances. This is a full-time position only.
Surgical Scheduling: Counsel potential surgery patients on pre-operative and post-operative instructions. Boards patients at the hospital, obtains medical clearance, retrieves authorization from insurance carriers, coordinating with the hospital for screening and more. This is a full-time position only.
X-Ray Technician: Your responsibilities would include properly positioning the patients and executing the imaging, performing patient's history and physical, and taking patient vitals. Must be able to efficiently take x-rays and aid the physician in diagnosis.
Medical Receptionist: This description encompasses both the check in and check out position. Works the front desk, has a lot of patient interaction, verifies insurance, and checks paperwork. Your responsibilities include inputting the doctors’ orders for prescriptions, giving and explaining referrals and imaging to patients, creating upcoming appointments and sorting electronic documents for the staff and doctors.
Research Assistant: Main responsibilities are to conduct research in the form of patient interviews in order to collect pre- and post-surgical outcomes, as well as manage the clinical research databases. You would also be responsible for coordinating neurosurgical resident research projects including study logistics, IRB submission, data collection/management, data analysis, and manuscript or conference submissions.
Clinical Research Coordinator: This role is ideal for someone with prior research experience. You will assist the Clinical Research Manager in managing several resident research projects under the guidance of the research program director. Your responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of research activities including, data collection/analysis, management of research databases, and drafting manuscripts. Knowledge of excel and statistical software is a major advantage.
