Clinical Assistant: Schedules clinical appointments, obtains authorizations for imaging, records and returns messages for physicians; the clinical assistant serves as the liaison between the patient and the doctor.
Research Assistant: Research assistants will be responsible for performing data collection and management of the clinical research databases. There is an opportunity for involvement in most aspects of research project management including coordinating study logistics, IRB submission, data management/analysis, and manuscript or conference submissions.
Research Coordinator: Various job responsibilities of a research coordinator may include, but are not limited to: coordination of all aspects of clinical research activities, drafting of study protocols, logistics and study design. Sample size and power calculation, IRB submission, data collection. Managing and maintaining large clinical databases, data analysis, manuscript drafting. National conference abstract submissions, and tracking of academic productivity and scheduling meetings.
Billing: Utilizes ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT codes to bill for services provided by the surgeons. Learns billing practices of specialists (such as credentialing, insurance verification, data entry, etc.)
Medical Scribe: Accompany the physician into exam rooms and transcribe the patient’s medical history, physical exam, and all other relevant information.
