Medical Receptionist: This description encompasses both the check in and check out position. Works the front desk, has a lot of patient interaction, verifies insurance, and checks paperwork. Your responsibilities include inputting the doctors’ orders for prescriptions, giving and explaining referrals and imaging to patients, creating upcoming appointments and sorting electronic documents for the staff and doctors.
Research Assistant: Main responsibilities are to conduct research in the form of patient interviews in order to collect pre- and post-surgical outcomes, as well as manage the clinical research databases. You would also be responsible for coordinating neurosurgical resident research projects including study logistics, IRB submission, data collection/management, data analysis, and manuscript or conference submissions.
Medical Scribe: Responsible for transcribing patient encounters with our physicians in our clinic including but not limited to medical history, physical exam, and all other relevant information. The utilization of ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes, proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling will also be necessary in this role.
Clinical Assistant: Triages patients via phone and schedules appointments; screens and refers phone calls, and communicates with patients for all inquiries; provides clerical, word processing, and staff support to the unit. Obtains imaging authorizations for patients and manages the clinic schedule. This position is merged with medical records and also encompasses those duties.
Medical Records Clerk: Creates new medical records and retrieves existing medical records by gathering appropriate record folders and contents; maintains updated files; assists in completing disability forms; answers all queries by searching and retrieving files. This position is merged with clinical assistant and also encompasses those duties.
