    DIS PTO is looking for parent volunteers to help throughout the school year. 

    All volunteers are now required by CISD to submit an application for approval to volunteer in CISD Schools.  Volunteers must pass the background checks in order to be listed as an approved volunteer at DIS or other CISD schools.  Please watch for additional information regarding the approval process and how to complete the application.

    Art Docent – present pre-prepared art lessons to students (training provided) – (monthly)

    Book Fair – help with set-up, tear down and selling of books – (three times yearly)

    Copy Room – make copies, laminate items for teachers and staff (training provided) – (weekly)

    Faculty Meetings – supervise students during DIS Staff meetings, 7:40 am – 8:30 am – (monthly)

    Field Day – help set up and monitor various student activity stations – (May)

    Garden Club– work with students/teachers/ gardeners for outdoor gardening lessons – (TBD)

    Garden Workers - plant seasonal items, weed, mulch in garden– (Thursdays - monthly)

    Homeroom Parent – coordinate & host the Holiday & Valentine’s Day parties for your student’s homeroom class – (December & February) 

    Homeroom Volunteer –help with your student’s homeroom class parties by attending and/or providing party supplies/food items – (December & February) 

    Hospitality – provide food/paper items for monthly teacher luncheons, help with set-up and/or clean-up – (monthly)

    Library – assist with check-out, shelving, other duties as needed – (Weekly/Monthly)

    Office Volunteers – assist Office with copying, assembling packets, answering phones – (Weekly)

    Online Auction Support – assist with collecting and distributing auction items (October)

    Spirit Shop – assist with selling of merchandise during lunch hours – (Friday & special events)

    Teacher Appreciation Week – help Coordinators with luncheons, activities, decorations – (May)

    Treat Cart – provide requested treats for teachers as needed – (Monthly)

    Winter Craft Fair – assist with set-up, clean-up and selling of items – (December 11)

     4th Grade Fun Night – help purchase items, decorate, set-up, clean-up, registration, collect forms,manage food and/or games on event night – (May 14)

    5th Grade Fun Night - help purchase items, decorate, set-up, clean-up, registration, collect forms, manage food and/or games on event night – (October 16 and February 26)

    6th Grade Fun Night - help purchase items, decorate, set-up, clean-up, registration, collect forms, manage food and/or games on event night – (September 18 and February 5)
