The Housing Authority of the City of Freeport [HACF] seeks to invest in their residents by providing educational and employment opportunities empowering residents to improve their quality of life. In 2012 the Dr. Peter Flynn Scholarship Fund was created to provide financial assistance to HACF resdients and encourage residents to pursue their career dreams through obtaining the proper education. The Scholarship honors Dr. Peter Flynn, 2012 retired Freeport School District #145 Superintendent, for his dedication to education through his 50 years as an educator and administrator. His goal was to work with each school child as though they were his own. One-time scholarships are available to provide financial assistance to pursue other educational goals such as, but not limited to, WDI, a trade certificate, GED or Work Keys Assessment. The maximum scholarship award is $1000.
